Tian Mi Mi (甜蜜蜜) by Teresa Teng

Tian Mi Mi or Sweet Honey Honey is another popular of Teresa Teng (邓丽君 - Deng Li Jun). This song is so popular that it has been sung by many artists. But when you search for other language version. You probably find only the Mandarin version. Perhaps the Mandarin version was made popular because it was sung by Teresa Teng.





This song was originated from an Indonesian folk song, called "Dayung Sampan" which means "Rowing Sampan". Sampan is a kind of small wooden boat. The original Indonesian version was really popular around Indonesia and Malaysia. Here you can also listen to the original version which was still sung by Teresa Teng. She's really a great Taiwanese singer who can sing many songs in many different languages.


After doing some seaching, I also found that another famous singer from Hong Kong, Emil Chow (周華健-Wakin Chau) also ever sang this song in his own style. You can also listen to his version.



Then,  another western  female singer, Juliana Jean also sang this song which was then renamed the song title into "I'm still loving you".





In 1996, Hong Kong produced a movie called "Tian Mi Mi" (甜蜜蜜) aka Comrades, Almost a Love Story, starred by Leon Lai (Li Ming) and Maggie Cheung (Zhang Man Yu). This movie was so popular at that time. And it uses Tian Mi Mi as the movie theme song.
